It's reasonable to mention this as it's not clear whether this sad parting is amicable or not.

Good luck mitm.

Re: Buying online from Lazada

The Lenovo Livepro L75 earbuds I bought on Shopee were around 25pct price of the real thing on AliExpress and sound fine. Excellent battery life (both case and buds) which is one of the main ways I judge many types of electronic knockoff goods. Sound quite reasonable, could never say it's tinny; now...

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

Mountainhead (2025). Satire/Comedy drama. Watched it because I like Steve Carell. An interesting take on AI deepfakes causing world chaos and the (humourously exaggerated) power those in control of tech have. But essentially it's just 4 guys in a house talking for the duration. If you can stomach 1...

Re: Thailand Calendar

I saw the holiday yesterday (Monday) described in my phone calendar as a 'bridge holiday'. I guess as the Queen's birthday holiday is only one day, but the Monday was granted as a holiday to bridge the weekend and the actual day. Never noticed that description before, but I'm not particularly observ...

They say it's probably safe to keep orbiting for a while, but if it starts flashing or stays on we might need to call someone.

Re: Article in UK Daily Mail

As far as I remember, the derogatory term LBH started amongst high-powered HK expats long ago, possibly in the banking industry. After that I think it was even in use in Dubai over 10 years ago when I was there (in the early/mid-2000s the number of British chancers turning up looking for any type of...

Wolf Man (2025). Enjoyable little creature-feature this one, I was pleasantly surprised. Directed by Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man, Upgrade) it's nothing intelligent... does what it says on the tin. Nice and gory in bits. :D https://yts.mx/movies/wolf-man-2025 Thanks, I was waiting for this one...

Re: Effect of enforcing Thai motoring legislation

On the topic in general (compulsory helmet wearing) I still believe that nannyism like this is unacceptable. Even for pillion passengers, it's their choice to ride or not if a helmet isn't provided. No-one picked me up on being totally wrong about this. The biggest reason for enforcing personal saf...

Nice, if only! And I could spray some on the wife for the nights I'm less keen than her.

Thai beauty queen Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri crowned Miss World 2025

https://www.nationthailand.com/life/entertainment/40050694 Physically she seems quite nice, I know the competition is supposed to be about more than that. Does she fit the frame of a 'traditional Thai beauty'? I see far more lovely and interesting Thai faces daily than the internationally accepted m...

Re: Sausage Roll Thread (split from Nanys thread)

Four 15cm sausage rolls weighing in at a hefty 225g each, ready to be cut into 16 man-sized bite ones if required (I use eight of the Makro flaky pastry strips, four rolled at the same time). I make kilos of the meat mixture in bulk and freeze it in 500g parcels, so it's very quick to knock these up...

Re: Booster Vaccines - Covid 19

The current outbreak was reported to be mild but fast-spreading, not sure if that's still the info. On that basis I'm not interested in a jab, but my real interest is in knowing how many actually had more than the initial two jabs years ago? I held off until I could get two Astrozenicas and then did...

I also know a few that have spent a night in the cells as a result. BB, you either have a very wide circle of acquaintances, or you associate mainly with drink/drivers! I have taken the odd chance after a couple of large beers (I used to never even worry about it in years past), but I only know one...
