My first time 1974, was travelling to AUSSIE overland .

Sofitel ( virtually exclusively Japanese) station, golf course , palace,post office not much else. stayed on wooden shacks they had on beach.

then back 1999, 2003,2004.

You now have choices hotels ,bars, restaurants,they days it was white whisky and meegrob on the side of the road .
