Well, from the very first game, things weren't right, and so far, they have not been rectified. Before the match, Southgate stated this is the best team. But it self-evidently isn't. I feel a little for Trippier playing out of position, from the very first game again, he has got the ball on the left, looks up and seeing nothing, ends up passing it back. He spent much of the first half doing that. He has spent much of 4 games doing that.

One hell of an improvement needed in the 2nd half. I will weep if I see Saka coming out for the 2nd half.

Tsk caller, what a ridiculous suggestion. It was the 84th...

EDIT: And why waste 5 subs when you can use only 2?

I'm not sure we deserve it, and I'm definitely not sure I can cope with another 30 minutes.

It makes no sense, does it?

Over on the beeb, Lee Dixon was asking how much longer is he going to leave it after 75 minutes.

I want to see Gordon now, to really stretch Slovakia across the pitch.

I see that Steve Holland was doing the team talk before ET, that's a good sign. ABS.

Don't know what you guys are on about. Southgate knew exactly what he was doing  to make my prediction of extra time happen. Just need to avoid the penalties now.

No problem apparently. Fuck me sideways, I wasn't expecting that. What on earth was going on for the first 94 minutes of the game?

Where’s Harry Kane when you need him?

And now the next script from Southgates playbook is in play, the one that say's, 'what to do in case we take the lead', yup, 'we sit back' and try to catch them on the break. Oh, and play even more players out of position. That always confuses them!

Although most teams need an element of luck to win games/a tournament, England have already had more than their fair share, so unless they start playing decent football, they’ll be coming home without it!!

That's the long and short of it.

4 dire performances, same players, same tactics, or lack of. As Gary Neville said, the clamour for change is going to be deafening. He has said it, Ian Wright has said it, all the 101 pundits seemingly employed by the beeb are saying it. I am saying it! Change is needed.

I bet he starts with the same 11 playing in the same way. I personally don't want to win in such a way.

The one change he’ll be forced to make is Guehi due to yellow cards, whereas he’s probably been Englands best/only consistent player in those four games.

Don’t understand Southgate’s reluctance to use Gordon - he’s about the only one who’s not clamouring for him to get a runout.
