My superficial understanding is that Thai's and Farangs with Work Permits can opt to pay into the 400B scheme.

It looks like farang must have a yellow Tabien Baan or be registered on a House Registration (maybe that means being named in a house Blue Book?).

I think the requirement for the yellow Tabian Taan or house book registration is for the insurance after you leave your employer.

While you work for your employer, they will deduct the fee from you salary.

I think the key point is to realise you have six months after you retire to join the scheme (where if I understand it correctly, you need to show where you are registered. If you have the Yellow Tabian Baan Book you will be listed in the houseowners Blue Tabbian Baan book)

Unfortunately back in 2005 no one informed me about being able to continue within 6 months. I did get a letter from social security but I'd left for a job in Australia and didn't see it until I came back 11 months later. There wasn't much info on the internet in those days either. All I got was a refund of my social security payments.

If you're in a yellow book you shouldn't be in a blue book, or vice versa. There should be no need for two entries in the same centrally recorded house registration.
