I agree, the first time I had hot dogs I commented to my wife (after finishing 2) that they taste kind of funny. She asked if I took the plastic casing off, OOops!

No doubt that some of them have preservatives added, but I will risk a bit to use the following. They have a big range of products, including some really tasty Frankfurters and Smoked Hotdogs.

Many companies do but ...... some don't. Cost saving I guess.Typically sausage that's made with artificial casing isn't sold with the casing still there; it's used for things like hot dogs, where the casings are stripped off before they're packaged and sold.
