May have to give this mandalorian a go after all. The plague of baby Yoda memes and incessant advertising over the past year or so didn't swing me but the reviews here have.
Mate, if you like Sci-Fi, it's an absolute cracker - I'm a proper Stars Wars & Star Treck fan from Day 1...... This is one of the best without doubt.
[EDIT] Helps if you've watched the originals (I.E. 70's & 80's) though....
I've not caught up on all the star wars yet, only watched 3 or 4 of the most recent ones (which I really enjoyed). Maybe I'll head through those first then before I crack on with the mandalorian.

Haven't started watching it yet, but the reviews are excellent.
Mare of Easttown is very watchable ...
Gave it 20 minutes and switched off. Too depressing, and we hadn't even got as far as the murder! Too many sad people with sad lives. It was a bit like watching...

Maybe I started watching it too soon after The Mandalorian...

You really need to see the original Star Wars films to understand and appreciate The Mandalorian. The special effects will obviously seem primitive, but treat them like a history lesson!

The third season of the Mandalorian is in production but it will come next year sometime, after The Book of Boba Fett scheduled for December.
This looks interesting....
"The Book of Boba Fett is an upcoming American television series created for the streaming service Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise, a spin-off from the series The Mandalorian featuring the bounty hunter Boba Fett from that series and other Star Wars media. The series takes place alongside other The Mandalorian spin-offs Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka.
Temuera Morrison stars as Boba Fett, with Ming-Na Wen also starring as Fennec Shand. Both reprise their roles from The Mandalorian and other previous Star Wars media. Several attempts were made at developing a standalone Star Wars film centered on Boba Fett before Lucasfilm began prioritizing its streaming series such as The Mandalorian. Morrison appeared as Fett alongside Wen in the second season of The Mandalorian, and a potential spin-off series was first reported in November 2020. The Book of Boba Fett was officially announced in December 2020, with Morrison and Wen starring. It had already begun filming by that point.
The series is set to premiere in December 2021."
[EDIT] Hey DM, it's not animated.....

I'm flitting around at the moment. I got bored with Viewpoint. I think I've got so used to binge-watching that I'm looking for something that really grabs me. Anyway, I think I've found one. Coincidentally, it's another one that stars Noel Clarke.
Bulletproof (Sky One)
Detectives Bishop and Pike fight crime together on the streets of East London, sharing a similar moral code despite their drastically different backgrounds. Bishop grew up being passed around foster families, desperately looking for a father figure, while Pike's father was the first black police commissioner, whose expectations he is struggling to live up to. Their deviating approach to life has been shaping an almost unbreakable bond between the two men, and their friendship is finally put to the test.
In some ways it's a bit like a London version of Bad Boys. 3 series, 17 episodes. Of course, they've stopped working on series 4 because of Clarke's alleged indiscretions.
EDIT: I haven't fallen in love yet, but I'm quite taken with Christina Chong's figure.
I'm into series 2. It's really very good. Shame whatever Clarke is said to have done appears to have screwed any more after series 3.
A programme I’m quite enjoying at the moment on BBC called “The Pact” - it’s a murder drama, nothing too series but has a few twists and turns so far - I’ve watched 4 episodes out of a total of 6 - worth a view IMO.

Well, I've finished series 2. I thoroughly enjoyed it... BUT...
I always bear in mind that these dramas are intended to entertain rather than be an accurate reflection of real life, but I was disappointed that the final episode veered so far from anything remotely resembling reality (they'd all have been sacked on the spot from any real British police force) that it verged on farce.
The 3rd series is just 3 episodes set in South Africa .

Thanks for the heads up DB - I've watched a couple and have to say I'm enjoying it so far. Nothing too dark or "heavy" but certainly keeps the interest!! Not to mention with regards to the locations (all pretty local to me)!
