Exactly Mack. I out forward the case you made the judgement.

Something to add here that has taken me quite a long time to comprehend and some of it at my expense I might add is that Land Ownership is seen as a means of stability of wealth with Thai people.

This is strange to my thinking as there is a positive movement in many parts of the world, mainly the West and also Japan, to move away from personal land ownership altogether and release ownership back to the people.

This is not some ridiculous communist ideal but a practical way of guarding the land of the future against unscrupulous profiteers.

I am constantly being persuaded to buy tracts of land here in Thailand. My question is always, WHY?

Of course people today (especially in Hua Hin) who have descended from people with my attitude are poor where those who bought land are rich.

So hopefully this land will, be left fallow for a few centuries. At lease it will be kept out of the hands of our far too numerous near neighbors in the North.

If I don't stop now I will be called a racist again.

To Mr. Lomuamart

Remember This Project is still in the talking stage nothing has been finalised yet. (As far as I knoW) I'm against it but there's nothing I can do about it individually. I'm going to stick with being 50 -50 on the disney Project (As my Job demands it to be impartial) but with the lasting tendency of being sceptical about it.

Untersächlich

I am aware that the land transfer has already taken place, I have even viewed by satellite. At least this is what I believe is the case as you say.

My skepticism is to the planned usage of the land. In many cases in Thailand the answer for the medium term is, nothing. That is good news.

In Spanish it is Pasado mañana and in German I think übermorgen. In Thai it is one of the many meanings of Mai Pben Rai. There is no equlivalent in English.

You mention "This Project is still in the talking stage nothing has been finalised yet". Involving who? Disney know nothing of the project and nothing has been reported in the press by Chang since the initial press release that was more than likely bullshit with a hidden motive attached.

Of course you are right, there is nothing you or I can do about it.

Perhaps he'll build a brewery? :D If industry is going to creep your way down there, a brewery would be much better than a car factory or steel mill. Pete

It's crept already, Pete.
Saw some great beaches only two hours south of here. Stayed for 4 days and never wanted to come back.
So close - but soooooo far.
As far as "steel" goes, I'll give you one guess where it is.

No worries Lomu, Disney has just about run it's course. No clue to your question though. I would guess either between Bangkok and Cha Am or, not until you get to Sura Thani?

I do know some Thai folks down there somewhere have serious problems from mining operations and poisoned water and soil. That saga has been going on for years with very little done about it as I recall. Pete

PS: To add to this toxic stew, there has been a published story going around for a few years that the Thai Gov found several 55 gallon drums of agent orange buried...guess where...right in or near HH. Officially, it was never here or used here. Unofficially, if makes sense if the US burried it thee as far away from any active militarybases back in those VN days. Perhaps onthe Disney land Chang bought?...there you go, back on thread again.

To Mr. Guess

I'm understanding the point you have made I'm Einverstanden with that.

The hidden agenda is Apparent that chang try to raise it's share price as he knows that the Bann on all ads of alkohol in the nedia and major events would affect his company as Well.

A few good and affordable schools public Libraries and Museums on that plot would be welcomed by me as Thai students are in need of Education! It would bene fit the future Genaration!
