Definitely not long enough and probably not strong enough to take the weight of 747s et al.
Also they would have to take off and land over the Palace and I'm sure the King would not like that.

Approximately 1 year ago, I discovered a Hua Hin real estate web site. which is now defunct (I checked 2 mins ago), which had an advert for "an investment opportunity" in the Hua Hin area.

The advert stated that it was for a theme park and minimum investment required was in the region of (I think) $250,000.

It showed a photograph of wooded countryside and included a lake. I have no idea where this is or even if it was in the Hua Hin area.

The advert, I recall, did not provide much more info, but invited enquiries.

I was intrigued by the advert and saved the site into my favourites which is how I was able to check.

This may or may not be connected to the "Disneyland Hua Hin" currently under discussion.

Mr. Charoen and his Devellopment Company knows that Malaysia is also bidding for a Disneyland Project/ I I think he has this in minfd when he do his Homework.
Before Disney decided to give Hong Kong the Bid for Theme Park Thailand was a serious Candidate but the Lobbyists for The Local Theme Parks like Daen Diramitr and Dream World Prevented. Disneys entry but now with the High End Foreign Touritsts in minfd The BOI should give competitiive incentives that should give it an edge to Malaysia's.
For Hua Hin opening The Aiport for International Flights requires that Runway be extended through land side (This means parts of Palm Hills plus Stamford Univ would be effected) or They could add Land from the the Sea (which is more expensive to do) currently only B707 and B717 and the A300 may be the A 318 could cuurently land on Hua Hin Airport.. for International Flights HH Airport should accomodate at least B737 and A 321 Plane types. Much more larger airplanes should not really land in HH. in my opinion.

Are we really sure about this one - this is a four engined aircraft, first produced over 50 years ago..............

Thanks Pete, really did not want to be the first to comment on aircraft designations. You are quite right on the 707 as it started flying commercially in the early 50's.Still used by Mickey mouse freight companies even in Europe with large side opening cargo door on port side.May be seen sometimes at Utapao in its designation of K135 tanker refuelling aircraft of which the US airforce has literally hundreds but due to Boeing bribery case,US military are no nearer deciding on replacement.
Have scanned Disney reports to shareholders and nothing is mentioned about forthcoming Disneyworld expansion reports but that is not to say that they are not carrying out feasability reports.
Another poster said why France.France offered huge fiscal inducements to Disney, the main one being a high speed rail link from Paris and many other perks. Was a mistake as the weather is too miserable but guess the spanish failed to offer the same kind of deal.
Think on rail connection and whether Hohin can be reached easily by High speed rail link fromm new bkk airport. If the answer is no then you can all rest in peace as malaysians will carry the day on that one out of KL.
Also think on new undemocratic Thailand that everyone seemed so pleased about, unstable democracies do not warrant massive injections of dollar generated cash unless it is mainland China where no one wants to miss the boat because the market is so massive.
Sure you can rest in peace, your fishing village is changing rapidly and according to most serious posters its not really to your liking but really doubt that Disney will ever have any bearing on the places decline. Its mere conjecture.

Thanks Digger for the Information about B707's thsat still in use today as Disney Freighters.
One ThingI would like to contradigt with you is that a new Highspeed Link does not nesserly have to connect Bangkok's New airport with Hua Hin. I would rather think a High speed rail Link from bangkok would be more feasable.
This is a still develloping Story. We may not hear from it this News in the Newspapers for weeks or even months to come but this should not deter me following it relentlessly. Until the Location of the next Disneey Park bit by bit we shall not jump to early conclusions and wait for things to Devellop. I would like to Thank all of the posteres who had pasionaltely posted for this Topic.!!!

living in Malaysia i've heard heaps of talk about them opening a disney here, however since they are still talking about doing it in Melaka last week then JB this week and just outside KL a month back i doubt there is anything confirmed here either.

Although i dont know what Disney look for before they build a park i would have to say that i doubt HH has the infastructure to support something that size / visiting tourists, i would say Malaysia probally could just about do it if the park was near KL or JB

would like to hear if anymore is mentioned in the papers etc across in HH though

cheers

Agree with you completely but the point I was trying to put across is that if a Disney park does come tro fruition in the hohin area,I doubt you can expect that the airport will have to be upgraded to accomodate huge A380's(when they are in commercial use) landing 600 people at the airport each flight. An existing airport would normally be used and some form of fast link would be built and probably expensed by the national government as a setoff for massive investment and job creation. If an good airport was the criteria then Utapao would be favourite as it is huge, strong and very long runway, plus proximity to huge amount of hotels in the pattaya area.Whether their is enough available land is subject to question
