
I've been a "customer" with K-Bank for about 12 years now and am known personally in our local branch which, up until today, has been very helpful.
The banks have recently changed their system on how they process cheques so after six years of depositing the same cheque in the same account every month I'm now told "mai dai". The names don't match so they cant process it, my middle name is used on the account but not the cheque - hasn't been a problem up until now.
Me: Ok, can you delete the middle name from my account?
Bank: mai dai
Me: Ok, can I open a new account with just my first and last names?
Bank: mai dai, same name on passport
Me: What do you suggest?
Bank: change cheque
Me: It has worked for the past 6 years and is issued by a very fickle internet company that does not deal with this country or its quirky banking system.
Me: Any other suggestions?
Bank: change passport
Me: You're having a laugh now, so that's it?
Bank: go to another bank
So after 12 years I'm about to say goodbye to K-bank and their utterly diabolical customer support.
