You should check out the flick called Detective Dee I posted a link to earlier then - similar style wuxia whodunnit fantasy mystery investigation.

There are a couple of outstanding S Korean films in a similar vein - THE DUELIST and BLOOD RAIN (aka BLOOD TEARS) - but those don't seem to be about on YouTube. Seems like S Korean film companies are a lot hotter on copyright enforcement with YouTube than Chinese and Japanese ones are.

THE DUELIST can be found split into 5 parts with hard subs at for part 1 - the other parts are in the users playlist (click the button above the player for the rest of the parts)

However.... you can watch single link streaming versions of both those films from other providers

right...some more from Cap'n Sandy's trawl net, and tonight we will be eating mainly oriental

- CASSHERN - eye poppingly lovely live action manga film about what goes wrong when mad science meets genocide and mutant rebels. One of my favorite films of this genre just for the way it is made

- VERSUS - the film that set the bar for madass quasi-samurai swordfight live manga films and spawned a whole genre that followed. Mad, gory excellent fun and games.

- ALIVE - by the same director and much the same style of genre flick. Not quite as good but well worth a watch

- HEAVEN AND EARTH - the classic 1990 samurai history epic not the Oliver Stone Vietnam flick. Well worth a watch even if the subtitles are pretty poorly translated.

- THE HORDE - great French zombie invasion of a hard as nails block of flats flick - here in an english dubbed version

and now some classic Richard Burton flicks

- Massacre In Rome - about the Nazi occupation and clearances in Rome during WW2

- Villain - Burton plays a Kray like east end bad lad

- 1984 - classic end of career Burton in George Orwells dystopian nightmare of socialism gone mad

- The Assassination Of Trotsky - historical biopic of the plot to kill Trotsky

and finally, a fully blown Michael Caine Lawrence Olivier classic

On a side note YouTube seems to be having a bit of a purge at the moment and a lot of stuff goes up and down faster than a yo-yo on meth and the poster accounts suspended.

I guess they have had a prod from US authorities again.
