Went last night for the first time. Good food, good service, good prices, great margaritas.

Re: 2010 Christmas dinner and entertainment in Hua Hin

Post by Rone »

Sorry bit late but been busy since we got home.

We were in Hua Hin for a month in December and ate at Terrace 90 on a number of occassions both lunch and dinner. The food, service, ambience and value were always very good, so we did not have to think twice about booking the Christmas day special meal. Sadly, whilst it was ok, it did not come up to expection.

In particular the soup (whilst nice) was only warm (as opposed to hot) the main course was disappointing and the service was not up to previous standard. Four tiny pieces of roast tatties and no mash, the veg was mush and the roast beef was 90% fat and gristle. Having said that the turkey was very nice and the Christmas pudding excellent.

Maybe it was just one of those nights with the service. The soup arrived without spoons and then we had to ask for a knife to butter the bread, we realised everyone else had eaten their pudding so we had to ask for ours and the white wine (pinot grigio) was not as cold as it should have been.

Did we complain no (I suppose if someone has asked the question we would have been more forthcoming) did not want to spoil a nice day.

Will it stop us returning to Terrace 90, absolutely not. But I would have to think about ordering special occassion inclusive meals. All in all this is an excellent restaurant and well worth a visit for their al a carte menu (did not try one of their buffet nights)
