Get well soon Sarge HHAD would not be the same without you.

If you give up the fags, greasy breakfasts and the odd drink, you may not live to be 100 but it will feel like it.

I notice that you are on GTN pills, is it not possible to get the GTN spray in HH?, it is much more effective and dilates the blood vessels almost instantly. Just a thought. :D

That is gonna hurt a lot of farangs who rely on the cheaper versions of the drugs they need to stay alive.

My drug requirements in 2000 was costing around £1000 a month, I never looked at Thai generic drugs back then, (mainly because I never trusted them and still don't) as some of the ones I was on were new and only available from outside Thailand.

Hate to think what they cost now.

With all due respect to Sarge and his doctor, we need confirmation from more than one source and hospital. Hopefully some HHAD member patients incarcerated in Bangkok hospitals or elsewhere here will be in a position to comment. Pete

Hi Just for you I will write a longer message than usual.. Was the young cardiologist - Dr.Polpat Euswas ? If so, he recently opened the Hua Hin Heart Clinic. I actually know him from when he was at Chula in Bangkok. Well versed in the noble art of heart repair.

As mentioned in another post.. nitro spray is much more effective. Have not been able to get in Thailand but well worth asking someone travelling overseas to get for you.. I use Nitrolingual Pumpspray...

Keep well

Just got back from cardiologist - Dr.Polpat Euswas at the Hua Hin Heart Clinic.
for the first time (no critisism of my first doctor) i actually had my heart condition explained to me in a way i could understand.

he also explained what each pill was for and what it did.

he has set out a plan to reduce my medication in three months and expects it to be cheaper by about 50%

His nickname is Oum which may be a little less squeamish for Super Joe.

Hey you young guys

Many of us old soldiers are in and out of hospitals with heart attacks and strokes and we survive

Many of the pills prescribed are crap (Mr. Plumb input please) and despite the advice we are given (give up smoking, change your diet and reduce the booze) we carry on regardless.

To quote a phrase from a well known aging pop star ' It's my life and I'll do what I want'

No sympathy expected. It's our choice
RICHARD OF LOXLEY

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Good news Sarge. :thumb:

This new heart clinic is sounding better and better. I just spent three days in Bangkok partly because of chest pains, which after a thorough examination, remained unexplained (the pain is gone at the moment and was intermittent anyway, probably just indigestion or too many chillies in my Thai dishes  ). Maybe I should give the place a visit.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
