What do you look for in a bar

Back on topic,
There has been much comment on what people like in bar.
I have always used to negative approach and avoid bars that have things that I do not like. For me many of these have been mentioned already. Mainstream music (Hotel California and up to date) are a definite no no as are cheap techno like Hot Hitz Vol 4 etc. Dirty toilets (now that would be a good name for a band) are also a put off.
Another thing that is a big put off for me is people. There are some characters around town that, if I see in a bar I will not enter. Unfortunately there numbers are growing here in Hua Hin.

Does this mean that the centre of town could potentially become a no-go area for you?Guess wrote:Back on topic,

Personally, if I want to enter a bar, I do. The fact that there is someone in there who I don't particularly like for whatever reason dosn't put me off.
After all, there are probably others to talk to anyway.
The only time it would affect my decision is if I didn't like the bar owner. Then there's no reason to patronise his place. Fortunately, these are very few and far between for me.
I pretty much agree with this. Since I don't really get out often anyway there are not many people in town that would put me off entering an establishment however there are one or two owners that do.lomuamart wrote: The only time it would affect my decision is if I didn't like the bar owner. Also service is a big factor, if I get looked after I tip well, reccommend and return. If I get ignored, ripped off or rubbed up the wrong way (no pun intended

For me a bar is to meet people and relax. Cleanliness is imporatnt but I go for atmosphere and ambience. Music is fine in the background and can add to the atmosphere but that is not why I would go to a bar. Need to have friendly bar staff to make you feel welcome. As long as the bar is clean and the people friendly I am not too fussy really!
Totally agree with you Knocker, but in addition to that I also want a pooltable.
The atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff is my no. 1 goal.
I believe that, in some strange way, that I'm very loyal to "my" bars.
Some time ago I was a frequent visitor in the Mao Mao bar.
Then the bar closed due to renovation because of a change in the ownership, which sent me out looking for a "new" bar.
I found what I was looking for in the P&P bar, and there I go from time to time, and enjoy myself.

I am sorry Lomu, but what a strange comment.lomuamart wrote:

Bars that have the sort of people that I do not like are few and far between. Maybe I should have been more expressive in my comment. What I do not like is violent, aggressive and boring people.
Boring I can deal with.
Violence and aggression I can not.
The centre of town????
Where is that then???

With your positive attitude you'll have no problem finding a bar with the sort of attractions and atmosphere you like.
Have a great time in HH, report your observations and keep on posting .

Bar where is friendly bar staff and customer is my first motive when I choose bar where to I going. If you get good service someplace bar it's probably you back to same bar again.
