Re: Driving distance from Hua Hin to Phuket
Thanks c.g. - then back to BKK and a cheap flight down may be a better proposition.

Driving distance from Hua Hin to Phuket
Can someone give me a rough indication of how far it is by car from HH to Phuket (e.g. Patong Beach) and how long it takes driving normally (i.e. observing most of the speed limits).
Thx

Re: Charcoal in Hua Hin
OK, thanks for the tips.
I'll have a look in HomePro again - last time all I got was the standard "Sorry no have!"

Charcoal in Hua Hin
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me where I can buy charcoal for a barbecue in Hua Hin?
The big shop in Market Village doesn't seem to have any - at least I couldn't find it and the sales staff didn't seem to understand what I was looking for.
Any help appreciated.

Chinese New Year in Hua Hin
Hi to all the members,
Can anyone tell me whether Chinese New Year is celebrated with parades, processions or street parties in Hua Hin? Last year we left too early for New Year, so I would be grateful for any tips that anyone can give me in this direction.
Thanks

Calling Hua Hin from Switzerland
Hi everyone out there!
I thought I'd posted this question once, but looks like it disappeared.
Can anyone please tell me what the cheapest way is to call Thailand (mobile) from Switzerland (landline or mobile)?
Thanks for any feedback you can give me.
Regards

Pitch & putt in and around Hua Hin
Can anyone tell me whether there is a real (9-hole?) pitch & putt course in or around Hua Hin? All I've been able to find on the Internet so far is 'proper' golf courses or mini (crazy) golf courses.
Thanks

Beaches
Now although I know - and can well understand - that a lot of people like to keep their "secret hideaways" to themselves, I would still appreciate it if you could let me know where the nicest beaches are around the Hua Hin area.
Thanks

Prepaid SIM cards
Hi,
We're coming to Hua Hin for 4 weeks next month and are looking to buy a prepaid SIM card for our mobile phones so that we can call home reasonably cheaply. Can anyone recommend a good provider - I've heard of AIS and DTAC, but what is your experience?
