Re: Mr Sing back open

I live on 116 every year for three months. This is great news! There are only a couple of places to eat farlang food near soi 116. I will check it out in a couple of weeks and delivery! Perfect for those days I don't want to leave to get food. Thanks for the post!

Re: beer prices

The hilton bar must have changed prices! 100 baht for a mixed drink? I have never seen a beer or mixed drink for that price. I thought it was 200 baht for a drink? Not like it is going to change my mind to visit the bar. For a two month trip I will go there maybe 2 times for a total of two hours.

Richard, I play golf at Springfield about 4 times a week and I leave on soi 116. As you probably know that is about 30 to 40 minutes to the course. I have two roommates so spliting a car won't be much. I spend only a couple of hours a day at home. 2000 baht a day for a car and driver would end up be...

Car rental for three months?

Does anyone know where I can rent a car for three months in Hua Hin. I just got to town and realized it would be easier to have a car then to call up for a taxi all day long. I looked on the rental sites on this website but they are all asking around 25000 baht a month. Seems really expensive. If an...

Buy your dollars now because a year or two down the road it will be the dollar on the rise. It won't go much lower than it is now. I think that it will always be between 30 to 37baht but not always as weak to the euro

what go's around comes around!

You can do this for a fee of I think 1800 baht at the immagration office. Mail in your passport to a local thai embassy or consulate in your home country. Get a 60 tourist visa for free. Saves you money and time dealing with the immagration office.

Is this the same owner as cheeky monkey near the sofitel? Is that bar still open? Cheeky monkey 2 sounds like a different atmosphere than cheeky monkey.

It is about 1,500 yards south of the Hilton on the beach. I would describe it as a beach reggae bar with live music by Thais.

It is still there with the same horrible speakers that it had ten years ago. It is tough to stay long because the sound of the speakers is so bad. Good drink prices

If you want to save 1000 baht and get to hua hin at 6:00 then I would suggest dusit thani shuttle in Bangkok. The cost is 600 baht and it leaves everyday at 3:00pm to the hua hin dusit. Once you arrive at the hua hin dusit they provide a free car ride to anywhere in hua hin. I stay about 10 km south...
