Paleo Beach Bar

Post by Jaime »

Can someone tell me if this place still exists? Always used to have reasonably priced food and drinks with music right on the beach.

It is still there with the same horrible speakers that it had ten years ago. It is tough to stay long because the sound of the speakers is so bad. Good drink prices

know it many years and see the change every year.
Seems realy they change the place only with the rubbish from the sea,but the spirit of the bar still the same.
Just love this place and will go back every time.

Just out of curiosity, where is it? I haven't heard of it before. :?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

It is about 1,500 yards south of the Hilton on the beach. I would describe it as a beach reggae bar with live music by Thais.

If it's still the same, the problem is that the music is just too loud and distorted; it's a bit like an Issan wedding party by the sea.
It's a pity really, because it would be alright if they turned it down a bit.

Agree, the occassional times we go we find it best around 4pm to 7pm when they're setting up or playing at a quiter level, it seems anyway!?!? Also dusk is always a great time to have a few beers on a beach.

The sounds level problem is the same in some of the smaller places in town that put on occassional bands, it's just too loud. El Murphy's and Buffalo Bill's are ok as they're large enough.

Its a bar to experience once, then go back for a second time just to make sure that you weren't dreaming and then to give a wide berth. Sorry, not my kinda place at all. Give me the Chinese temple every time.

No need to apologise Jim - I wasn't expecting you anyway! :D

Well, I for one am glad it is still going as I always enjoyed the banter with the spaced out staff and the ability to have a beer while the kids play within view on the beach. So, I WILL be there having an enjoyable afternoon beer by the sea with a plate of sloppy som tam and goong chut beng tordt in the near future... so there!

Apart from the over-powering rock music I think its a great spot - its the only real beach bar Hua Hin has.

Its a shame there is just too much swank in HH to have more chill-out venues on along the beach. Koh Tao has plenty of them!

Buks
Did there not used to be two of those beach type bars, one up by the Hilton and one farther down past the Sofitel.
Have been to both of them and had a good time in both.

You can usually find a member of staff within, say, 12ft of each other 8)
