I retired and moved to Thailand five years ago today. Just in time for Loy Kratong. It’s always special to me because of that.

Daddy Deli is moving. I believe he said first of November. Moving in with (merging?) The Lodge. Up the hill from DaVinci School just before the turn at Pineapple Village.

I always use Hua Hin Taxi. 1700 baht from my doorstep near Blúport to the airport. Great drivers and way, way quicker than a bus.

As an American and smash burger..well, any burger, fanatic, I was bummed to see that Robin Hood was sold and renamed. Those were great smash burgers by a Scottish guy. The place is now called Father & Son, and they have ‘smash burger’ written on their sign. Anyone been there lately? How is it?

One more thing (promise). I see that Gourmet Market now has a very limited stock of Heart of Darkness beers brewed in Saigon. It's crazy expensive, but worth it for a treat now and then. I especially like Kurtz's Insane IPA (7.1%), Loose Rivet New England IPA (7.5%) and The River IPA (5.7%). Accord...
