Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport

I am under the impression that the BluPort Imm office handles only 90 Day and Re Entry stamp. All Extentions must be given at the main office. Hope I'm not giving wrong information here . . . but it was certainly the case last November. But things change on the fly with Thai Imm and I'll be finding...

Re: Hua Hin City 2018

Re: The Beer Thread

I tried a can of Snowy last night. Tasted ok; a watered-down Hoegarten clone for 55bt can't be considered bad. I just wish that they'd priced it at 80bt and given it a bit of a fuller flavour - it'd still be a lot cheaper than any of the competition. I kind of hope it does well; then perhaps Tiger ...

Re: How will my move from Chiang Mai to Hua Hin effect my retirement visa process

Chiang Mai immigration is a nightmare. One of the worst in the country. So I understand why you think you need an agent. However, HH immigration is one of the best in the country. Relaxed and reasonable officers, with a much smaller crowd of applicants. You can do it all by yourself without an agen...

Re: Charges for installing an internet cable/service

When I was looking to change my Internet package last year, I found that AIS and True offer packages with mobile phone SIM, Internet and TV. True also included an option for a land line, I don't know that AIS have a landline option(I can see no mention of it in their brochures or online). They both ...

Re: Getting dual citizenship and transfering land ownership

Also, to obtain Thai citizenship you must speak, read and write Thai fluently and sing the National Anthem and King's Song. Not according to everything I've read about this. There is a points system and you need to have a minimum of 50 points out of a possible 100 to be eligible for citizenship. He...

Re: Aspirin

You're not sure what he referred to - but it didn't that stop you from replying. Wouldn't surprise me if what you said about aspirin was true. But the medication he referred to is Cardiprin, not aspirin. Cardiprin is mostly aspirin. Aspirin pills dissolve S L O W L Y. Cardiprin dissolves in seconds...

Re: Aspirin

The other professor was vehemently against it! Aspirin is known to damage the stomach lining, but the type of tablet prescribed for thinning the blood is not swallowed, rather it is absorbed by placing the tablet under the tongue. I'm not sure what you're referring to (nitroglycerin perhaps?) but a...

Re: Thai officials believe 12 boys missing in cave are alive

Looking at the escape method, maybe somebody else used to watch Thunderbirds. Not such a stupid idea after all :D Not sure I follow - they're using a 'buddy' system as I understand it, with each boy tethered to one diver in front of them and a second diver following behind as back up. Breaking News...

Various media outlets reporting that the first 4 boys are out already. Good news! (Although not officially confirmed by the organisers yet).

Re: HDMI Cables

Found the following Which? article which seems a little contradictory. It starts by saying there's no discernible difference between cheaper and more expensive cables but goes on to point out that cables supporting the newer standards (HDMI 2.0 / 2.1) can give you higher resolution on UHD/4K/HDR con...

Re: Which Smart TV?

I guess it depends what you mean by 'Smart TV'. According to the Panasonic website, this model has a Web Browser and 'Internet Apps' so it sounds like it is. The salespeople in the store should also be able to tell you, and maybe you could get them to set one up for a demo.

Re: What are the TV service options in Hua Hin.

hhinner - that appears to be true (pun intended). You can also use the True ID TV or True Anywhere apps (which both have Chromecast support) - I set them up using my AIS phone number, it seems all they need is a number to send the initial authorisation code to, it doesn't have to be a True SIM. From...

Re: Requirements for retirement visa HuaHin

I've done two extensions of stay based on retirement so far - never taken a map and never been asked for one. As far as I know, you should only need a map if you're doing an extension based on marriage. I took my passport, my daughter's blue book, letter from bank, bank book, 1 passport photo and th...
