Re: Immigration 24 hour address registration clampdown starts in Phuket

I have stayed in HH for nearly 9 years and have never reported my address. My address is reported everytime I renew my marriage visa, and I have multiple entry and travel in and out of the country several times every year. No one has ever asked me to do 24 hours reporting and Immigration has never ...

Isn't that soi 19 to the end then right and on the right? Soi 35 would be left, left and on the left I think.
That's correct. Soi 35 is the one where you turn at the traffic lights by the Klai Kang Won school.

Re: Swimming pool for lap swimming

Thanks for the replies. I think I have found the "grand" I inquired about in original post. Its a great sized pool there but unfortunately do they not allow outside guests. I have been to the sport villa previously but its IMO not suitable for lap swimming unless prepared for "slalom" between other...

Re: Swimming pool for lap swimming

Hua Hin Sport Villa on Phetkasem Road between Soi 104 & 104/2, has a pool that you can use for 50 Baht a day. Using the measuring tool on Google Earth, the pool is approx. 25m at its longest point. It's not all that far away from True Arena though, so it might still be a bit far for you to go.

This is whats bringing the bad weather we are getting right now, 900km wide super typhoon Mangkhut
No it's not - it may be 900 km wide but it's more than 3,000 km away. It is not currently having any effect on the weather in Thailand.

Re: Top three nearby restaurants at the north end of Hua Hin

Caller, the OP was apparently a little confused about his location. He actually wanted info about restaurants close to, or just north of Soi 6, Hua Hin, and preferably close to the the Canal road.

The original thread title is misleading.

Re: Thailand's dark side: why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao

IF the British Embassy issued just a mildly worded caution it might help, but alas they don't want to offend!! They have issued warnings - and they specifically mention Koh Tao, drink spiking and rape. I got an email 2 days ago from gov.uk with updated 'Safety and Security' advice. Here's an extrac...

Re: Electric Cars

There are so many f these battery stories--eventually one of them will be true. What are most people waiting to hear? Initially I suggest 1 A car that will go about 500k (300+ miles) on one charge 2 Can be fully charged in 30 min. so you can drive for 5 hours, stop and refuel yourself and car and d...

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport

I am under the impression that the BluPort Imm office handles only 90 Day and Re Entry stamp. All Extentions must be given at the main office. Hope I'm not giving wrong information here . . . but it was certainly the case last November. But things change on the fly with Thai Imm and I'll be finding...

Re: The Beer Thread

I tried a can of Snowy last night. Tasted ok; a watered-down Hoegarten clone for 55bt can't be considered bad. I just wish that they'd priced it at 80bt and given it a bit of a fuller flavour - it'd still be a lot cheaper than any of the competition. I kind of hope it does well; then perhaps Tiger ...

Re: How will my move from Chiang Mai to Hua Hin effect my retirement visa process

Chiang Mai immigration is a nightmare. One of the worst in the country. So I understand why you think you need an agent. However, HH immigration is one of the best in the country. Relaxed and reasonable officers, with a much smaller crowd of applicants. You can do it all by yourself without an agen...

Re: Charges for installing an internet cable/service

When I was looking to change my Internet package last year, I found that AIS and True offer packages with mobile phone SIM, Internet and TV. True also included an option for a land line, I don't know that AIS have a landline option(I can see no mention of it in their brochures or online). They both ...
