Vegetarian restauarants

Hi JG, you have no doubt read the link by now, and taken on board the 'fish additives' problem.
Additionally I think you would struggle to find a restaurant where there is a full understanding of vegetarian needs, unless a place is under very tight farang control. For example - the use of stock cubes and animal fats may not be seen as a problem.
Heard a nice story once of a farang lady who ordered vegetarian curry. It had a piece of beef in it. She complained, saying 'I asked for vegetarian, this is beef'.
Waitress replies 'Is Ok - cow eat grass' :thumb:

Several (perhaps many?) restaurants have a "vegetarian" section in their menus. . . (but see previous caution). Two I think of are Orchids (part of Fulay on the street closest to the beach not far from the Hilton) and Take 5 on the right side of the maid drag in Khao Takiab.
