Resturant serving quality Wurst (German sausage)

Restaurants, food, beverage, hawkers, and local markets and suppliers. This is the place for discussion on Hua Hin's culinary options.

Post by lockwood74 »

Can anyone suggest a good resturant in Hua Hin that serves high quality Wurst, and of course the beer to go with it

Regards

If its still there, Willies Station on Poolsuk. I'm no Wurst expert but do like German food and was never disappointed there.

Willie Station is still there and good, though it's Swiss rather than German.

The place with probably the biggest selection, also to take away from their delicatessen store section is All in Hua Hin.

'All in Hua Hin' Serves all things German. Had a really nice smoked pork chop with Sauerkraut the other day. I'm pretty sure they serve big fat Wurst and mash.

Well I did say I'm no Wurst expert Barry! But yes, thanks for pointing that out. Which makes me wonder - we all know about Swiss cheese but what IS their national dish? Just curious - not having their own language and all,

They still have the Swiss franc and they're keen on fondue! Apart from that they have some of the most pungent cheese you can imagine, it makes Issan food look delicate.

Well they do have their own language, sort of:

Apart from German, French and Italian, Switzerland has a fourth official language called Romansch. It's part of the family of Rhaeto-Romanic languages, but is only spoken by around 1% of Swiss people, predominantly in the Graub?nden Canton in the southeast of the country.

As for food, one of the most traditional dishes is R?sti, which is grated potato and onion fried in the pan to form a sort of potato pancake.
This is often eaten with Z?rigschn?tzlet, thin strips of veal with mushrooms in a cream sauce, delicious!
