New Thai restaurant in Baan Gai

Post by huahinsimon »

New restaurant with the great name of "Porn" run by Mr Thas and his wife, who are refugees from Phang Nga, where they had a restaurant wiped out by the Tsunami. They lost every material thing but saved their lives and that of two children and mom. It took them a long time to get get back on their feet (will have to ask if they got any of that relief money) but here they are in Hua Hin up soi 88 just past the new Markwin Hotel and a new bakery on the right across from a plant nursery in one of those shophouse blocks.

The Tom Yum Kung and tom kha gai beat Kim's and LeK Lek, IMO. Huge bowls and spicy the way I like it. Green curry chicken also good, but the fried chicken with cashew nuts needs a little help. Prices are very reasonable. :D

Khun Thas likes country western music and I am making him copies of Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard and a few others. He will play your music while you dine. :thumb:

This restaurant is a true start up, He uses an old tattered menu from his former restaurant and runs to a local shop to fill your beer/drink order as he hasn't the cash to fill a refrigerator with a selection of drinks yet.

So drive across the railroad tracks on soi 88, turn right at the 7-11 on the corner follow, the road past the Mini-farm restaurant and around to the left about 1/2km or less and you will be there. No crowds, yet.

good eatting

The devil made me do it the first time.
The second time I did it on my own.

When I finally got to the land of milk and honey, the milkman shot me

Happy wife, Happy life!
