Can only compare yours to El Murphy's and you come out way way on top
KK does not do ribs but I know the owner asked a friend of mine to do them for him at a special party

BTW - absolutely agree, any true Yorkie only has pudds with beef. Sadly BB isn't a native of Gods own County! In fact he probably thinks they should be served only with the mains

I always had my Pud first covered in onion gravy, then the roast with more pud and the sweet course was pud again with cheese and syrup
In my youth when large families had to be fed, so much pud intake made the beef last at least 3 days
Roast on Sunday, cold with chips on Monday, Potted meat sarnies for the remainder of the week and of course real dripping sarnies too

All you Northerners think us Southerners have never lived don?t you, well let me tell you as a kid and even now sometime, my children and I have Yorkshire Puddings with jam and gravy aswel, my wife thinks it?s disgusting and would never try.
My mum used to make the best Irish stew with Dumplings, we had Jam with them too. If you?re up for a proper good Irish neck of Lamb Stew, let me know!

Nostalgically miss Hull fair, Locano ballroom, fish bobbers chat in the fish markets, pie peas and mint sauce in the markets and the infamous Hessle road from top to bottom and a night out for 10 bob

Spent a fair while in Hedon, and have a few relatives in Cottingham as well. Used to drive the outskirts of Cottingham en-route from Hedon to Eaglescliffe quite regularly.
I did live in the North East for 8 years in a place called Eaglescliffe - about 2 hours North of Hull. Pie & Peas was pretty big there as well.
My father came from Hessle Road and I have loads of relatives up there. Relatives were all involved in the fishing industry when it was at its height. However, I was well and truly born and bred in Plymouth, although I used to visit on a regular basis. I agree the transformation has been considerable in recent years.my ancestory is well and truly from Hull

Oh heck, opened a can of worms here! Sorry Big Boy, Richard is right, I was having a dig at Buffalo Bill! As for your ID, well I'm not so sure now. I'd obviously mistaken you for Jason cos he's too young to remember things about 'up North' that you do - and Richard of course.
Anyroad we seem to have quite a clique of old codgers familiar with the area, and could plan quite a Northern reunion in HH. Theres Joyce, John, Terry and others.
FYI Richard, sadly Locarno is now an empty festering shell, as is Baileys. I work opposite the Locarno building in another festering shell which is awaiting a demolition order. Theres certainly a lot of regeneration going on, but also a lot of the old landmarks disappearing in the process, which I'm not convinced is always good.
BTW - pudds with jam? Yuck, it has to be golden syrup! Cheese is for fruit cake.
