Just an observation

Post by Big Boy »

I see that yesterday, we had the most number of users online at any time - just 35.

What happened to the old statement (can't remember the numbers, but it was well over a hundred) about the most number of users being on line sometime around Christmas 2005- I think?

The previous figure of 277 was caused by a virus that attacked phpBB software about two years ago. Each instance of the viral code was counted as a "user", as you can see it got hammered by them.

The counter was reset as HHAD likes to show only real and accurate readership stats unlike the inflated figures other local websites like to boast!

How gullable we can be  I've often wondered why so many were looking at the forum on Christmas Day.

It actually gets almost 1,500 per day but not all at the same time so divided by the hour gives you 62 or one a minute!

Another observation, and I try very hard to be a fair critic in most instances. I quote:

"HHAD: we innovate, others duplicate! Bringing you all there is to know about Hua Hin since 2002, if we don't have it you don't need it."

The last 9 words are a bit presumptuous and not the normal HHAD style. It sounds like you're street corner selling. It would probably sound better saying, "whatever you need you'll find it here and if you don't, call us and we'll help...". Pete

Or, more concise:

"We're here for your every need".

Having said that, I understand where Admin are coming from & maybe it's time to stop underselling HHAD & start promoting it as the informative portal & market force it is?

One infers of the above the following corollary: what we don't need, you don't have.
Well, we don't need an education, a life, nor a brain.

One refrains from use of the Royal "we" should one refer to oneself. Rather, one is one of the
multitude in the "we" who, in the immortal lyrics of The Pink Floyd, need no education.

And yes, quite right, one needs a cold one this very instance.
