cheap car truck to rent /buy

what kind of prices can i expect to pay for buying an old banger, or renting, in huahin or prachuab

i am only here 5/6 weeks per year so i dont want something nearly new liying idle (family here all stick to bikes).

any info appreciated,

the cost of second hand cars is high here for something which you would pay a few hundred pounds in the uk go for a couple of hundred thousand baht
there doesn't seem to be the same depreciation here as else where
there are quite a few second hand car dealers around town it would be a matter of shopping around in HH or even BKK where there are an abundance of SH car outlets
