It's almost 12 months since I was in HH, & reading the posts on here I gather things have probably changed.
So I'd like to pick your brains. In your opinion, where's the best place in town to eat at the moment?
No holds barred, I love all food.
For me, Thai food in the night market, Farang food Crawfords, Johnny Walkers but all in all there are so many venues

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.
Some of my Thai favourites
Khao Kha Moo (pig's leg steamed in soy sauce) - one of the small restaurants opposite the railway station
Khao Nah Pet (duck's breast on top of rice) the food market area in the corner of Chomsin and Naebkehat Roads
Best Gordon Bleu used to be at Old Germany, which is unfortunately still closed.
There's a boat shaped place in Takiap, Ruarumtarin or something like that. For the standard of the place it is really very reasonable with prices and the food is fantastic. I think a lot of people are put off because it looks as though it would be expensive but they're not. The place can get really busy at times and a booking may be needed. Most times I have been there it has been quite busy but lots of open space with a lovely cosy, romantic feel.
Tops marks as far as I'm concerned.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
Sontam, frogs, snake, insects, sugarcane rat, turtles.raw beef, dog, chicken, pork and raw, still alive fish all washed down with Lao Khow and of course sticky rice
bowel movements incredible!!!

Nightmarket is great for Thai food.
Mama Mia for Italian food.
Lets See is a lovely venue and good food.
Little Danish geat Scandi style food.
Baan Monta does probably the best jacket potatoe here, they do a good range of western dishes, quality is spot on. (soi 57 sea side of Petchkasem rd.)
Crawfords does an excellent Chicken Madras and Chicken liver pate.
JWs for Goulash and Chilli.
Good i love food.
JW, you forgot the big breakfast at Crawfords, there is no better hangover cure than a big fry up, and I must admit, it was the best by far I have had in HH.

Must admit I'm partial to a good fry-up meself.
Details of Crawford's please?
A TG took me to the night market, the food was excellent, the ambience good if you didn't mind the odd rat darting about.
The main thing was how inexpensive it was.

For good quality, and value, Thai food, I like some of the open fronted places on Pethakasem road around the Bangkok bank and Royal Palace area. They’re open to the road so the environment isn’t the best but the food in these restaurants takes a lot of beating, they also have a good turnover so they can keep supplied with fresh food.
A couple of them are also open very late at night if you want a meal and a beer after hours.
