hua hin photographic portrait - photo project:

Post by seasides »

hi - I want to start a photographic project of hua hin.

a portrait so to say of this very intriguing little town.

many places I know, but many more interesting ones probably not.

I would appreciate anyone's help in giving me ideas of those hidden places:

old houses, interesting structures, people, sceneries, temples, visual treasures, trees, projects, architectural pearls, food items ...

perhaps you could post an image of the scene/subject you're thinking about and post the location/address.

otherwise pls PM me.

any hint is highly appreciated.

There are a number of images on the photo gallery, I took quite a few of them so let me know if you want more details. Would be quite interested in working with you on something like this.

(I moved this to classifieds by the way as it seems to be a personal request).

Is it just places you're looking for or events/festivals? If festivals are of interest, you have Loy Krathong coming up on 5th Nov (should be some lovely picture opportunities there) & also, the Thai longboat (Dragonboat) races on the Pranburi river on 3rd November. The race course goes right through the middle of all the docked fishing boats, think that might make for some spectacular pictures.

And, there is one boat in particular that may well go right through one of those parked fishing boats at full speed, WHAT A PIC!.....LOL. I couldn't help myself! :P :D  Pete

I'm hopeless at geography, but it's Pak Nam Pran. If you pm barrys he'll be able to give you exact location :D

If you want to capture a glimpse of the past that still remains try walking done some of the little alleyways near the sea front. There is a whole maze between Naredamri Road and Nebkerhart Road. Trucks and cars cannot get down them and the only bikes you see are belonging to people who live there.

Also try alongside trhe railway south of the soi 88 crossing and check out some of the side turnings or along side the raileay north of the Town Centre towards Bo Fai.
