Warning to married men with Thai g/f

Post by DawnHRD »

I was sitting in Khaimuk Restaurant at the front of Satukarn Square at about 2pm today when a Western girl in her 20's came in. She sat down, took out a video camera & started surreptitiously filming the couple behind me. He was an older farang guy wearing a blue shirt & she was a Thai lady wearing (I think) a brown dress (just in case the guy is an HHAD member, he'll know himself from description). The couple were just eating, I didn't see them touch or kiss, but then I had to turn to look at them.
After about 10 mins, they paid & left & the farang girl put the video camera away. I didn't say anything to the guy, but I did tell the staff & asked them to tell him if he came back another time. The staff engaged the girl in conversation & she said she was a journalist doing something about Thailand. My problem with that is: why hide the camera, why only film one couple without their knowledge, & why put the camera away the moment they left. My guess is that he was married & she's checking up on him for his wife :?
So, the moral of that story is: If you're out here having some fun with a Thai lady & your wife is "back home", look around you every so often & check that no-one is filming you!

That one can be taken care of quickly. Staff to summon the men in brown and ask for her work permit, as well as charge her royalities for filming a commercial production inside their establishment. Then the real story my come out as she attempts to save herself. Probably cost two red notes for the cops efforts. Pete

Good thinking Pete.

Of course there could have been many explanations. I would have approached the lady myself and made an attempt to call the couple back. After viewing the film nyself I could make a choice.

What I find strange is that how many farang women let their husbands come to Thailand. Surely if they did allow the trip they would not be wasting money on dicks. Of course it could have been a set up or the guy might have supposed to be in Munich.

The other thing, twenty year old farang girl working in Thailand alone doing that kind of work has to be very brave or very stupid.

I was thinking the farang wife is here in Thailand, just a hunch but maybe not. I don't think HH has many expat's working at big multinational companies or factories, like over here and in Rayong. It's with guys like that who have the lunchtime delight with the Thai secretaries and mistresses.

So, perhaps you're right and he is on holiday and wifey is home in farangland, or in Bangkok.

Maybe we can solve this mystery...release the hounds and tack posters to every tree!...LOL. Pete

Good one, Pete. Wish I'd thought of that! I didn't speak to either the girl or the couple, but the girl was very aware I knew what she was doing and she kept shooting me nervous glances.

Guess, I quite honestly didn't think it was my problem, although I didn't like what she was doing. I find that sort of thing very low. As a woman (& one whose husband cheated on her with Asian women) I think if a woman engages a private detective to get proof, she's after one thing - money! She wants a big divorce settlement. My feeling is, if you think your spouse is cheating, you're probably right & then you deal with it by staying or leaving, whichever you choose. I can't see how putting the proof on the table helps matters for either partner, unless you're after a big payout of some kind. Just my opinion...

Sorry Dawn, I don't agree, its not always about money its about the proof, If kids are involved and if infidelity is the only grounds for divorce in some countries getting the son of a B**** in camera is critical.
Could be a good business for some entrepreneur .......

Seriously what is wrong with this post??? You warn a married man so he doesn't get caught???????? IS that a true representation of the kind of men that are here ????

Maybe to get a 3 second snapshot as part of a montage on a holiday/property programme with a voiceover going something like: "Hua Hin doesn't have the same reputation for sex tourism as other Thai resorts but you will nevertheless notice a large number of middle aged western men accompanying attractive young local women."

Seems perfectly plausible to me, especially given the age and sex of the photographer but then I am neither a journalist nor a private investigator!

Well if it was journalism and aimed foir a UK market, it won't be much of a revelation, nor will they be able to reveal the identities of either party if its for broadcast - faces will have to be blurred out - not much of a story there!

Thought that too. Any broadcast has to be okayed by any individual involved or will be pixalleted.
The Predator or children are pixelleted anyway.

the Dr"s advise would be to remove the offending camera place it on the floor and smash the thing to hell then ask for credentials and why you were filming me without my permission!

You have to be joking fellas. Do you think they ask everybody on a beach when they do stuff for travel shows, or at markets, restaurants, tourist attractions etc.? Or even for holiday brochures (my cousin found a big picture of herself in one of those once whilst browsing for a package deal!), web sites or possibly even a student project. Journalism doesn't need to be revelatory - it could be as mundane as any one of those things.

Tbuzzi,

The man was caught. I didn't tell him, neither did I stop the filming, although that is more due to my dislike of confrontation than anything else.
I dislike the fact that for whatever reason, someone can be filmed without their knowledge. I don't like that invasion of privacy.
My father used to be in the security & investigation business, but he would never take matrimonial cases & I guess I feel the same way as him.
As I stated, my ex cheated on me while he was working in the Philippines. The girls used to phone me & give me all the sordid details.I wouldn't defend men who cheat, but I didn't need to see a video - I just walked.

I don't know what this girl was actually doing, Jaime, I just have my opinion. However, in the restaurant, only 4 tables were occupied; this girl's, mine (with my mum), the farang guy & another farang couple. If she was doing a journalism piece, why not walk in, ask the staff if she could do a bit of filming (I'm sure they'd like the "publicity") and film everyone in there? Actually, that was why I originally noticed the camera; I thought she would be videoing everyone & I wasn't happy about being filmed without being asked (although I was only eating lunch with my mum!)
Her general demeanour, the fact that she was doing her best to disguise the camera & the fact she only focused on this couple were what led me to my conclusion. I might be completely wrong, but if it was for some sort of broadcast & she didn't ask them, that's just as bad. Still photography in a crowded place is one thing, but being filmed like that is, IMHO, an invasion of privacy.
The reason this has got my back up so much is the privacy issue & the fact it seems like a set-up. I didn't see the couple do anything that business associates wouldn't have done (although I did have my back to them much of the time). But are you aware that in the UK & US, women can actually hire attractive young ladies to go into a bar and try to chat up their husbands? To tempt them to see if they would cheat, given the opportunity? There are companies that specialise in this! If you could hire Western women to do that, how much would it cost to hire a bar girl to do the same, film her with him & use the evidence to get a big divorce settlement? Think about it...

Dawn, I'm not saying you're right or wrong - I wasn't there and you were. All I'm saying is that from your description the girl could have been doing any one of the things discussed in this thread.
