Christmas Dinner at Home

Post by Dannie Boy »

For anyone who might be contemplating making their own Christmas dinner, I was at Makro Cha Am this morning and they had what looked like Red Desiree potatoes or something very similar - definitely red skinned and fairly thick looking, not like any of the normal potatoes, so I bought some in anticipation - Baht 55 a kilo!!

Thought I’d post a couple of photos of our Christmas Dinner - although the potatoes were fine, if I’m honest they weren’t really any better than the normal ones, but we also had parsnips which I’d smuggled from the UK when I returned in November (blanched and frozen).

It looks very nice!
I haven't had a traditional Christmas dinner since the last time I spent the holiday season in Hua Hin which was 2018.
It's way easier to find one there than it is in Luxembourg.
I remember the ones that Barry used to produce when he was in business with JW many years ago at Johnny Walkers bar, he had people smuggling out Paxo stuffing and the suchlike for weeks before.

^That also looks excellent.
( I don't remember mushy peas ever being that necessary for a good Christmas dinner! )

LOL, they are in my house. It's OK though, we had extra sprouts to compensate.
