Recommendations For an Ad Blocker

Post by Big Boy »

Following on from the VPN thread where I've discovered neither ITV nor Channel 4 will work if my adblocker is switched on.

I currently use Ad Block, but I can't see a way of making the Ad Blocker ignore certain sites. There is possibly a way, but it has to be paid for.................... unless one of you good guys can advise how without subscribing to a premium service.

Does anybody have a recommendation for an Ad Blocker where certain sites can be easily ignored please?

According to the AdBlock help pages, you can disable it for specific sites. There's no mention of having to have a paid version that I can see.
Are you trying to watch a video or read an article on a site that doesn't allow ad blockers? Do you want to support a site you love by allowing it to show you ads every time you visit? Do you want to see ads on all sites and only block them on a few? We provide a number of different options so AdBlock works best for you.

Note: The methods described below work in desktop browsers on Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

Thank You GroveHillWanderer. Instructions given on that link did not work, but it made me think a bit further outside of the box, and I think I've disabled Ad Block for the 2 sites in question.

I use Brave browser, which blocks most ads and intrusive scripts without the need for third-party ad blockers.

Sounds good - hope it actually does work for you.
