New Passport Tasks
I have just got a new passport and have been to immigration to transfer my visa stamps. Does anyone know who else I am obliged to inform about my new passport? The passport number is shown on my driving license. Do I have to get a new license? Also whenever I go to the bank, my internet provider, my GSM provider I usually have to show my passport. It is also on my rental contract. Do I have to officially inform any of these people?
Re: New Passport Tasks
How much did they charge to transfer the stamps?
Re: New Passport Tasks
Don't worry about the driving license, it will get updated when you renew it.
The bank does need to change it though, they'll do this automatically when you next go in there and have to show your passport, but its not urgent.

They shouldn't ask anything, it's a free service. I was asked for 500 Baht a few years ago. I gave the money and said I require the normal pink cash receipt. The money was returned inside my completed passport.

Thanks for the answers. They charged me 500 Baht and I didn't get a payment receipt!

General advice to everyone is always get a receipt from an IO (or anyone) for cash unless you've deliberately given it as tea money. I gave my IO lady (works away from the desks nowadays) 1000 Baht a couple of years ago because she's always been on my side for over 10 years, and helped so much when my wife was almost immobile and dying and we were trying to extend her yearly visa.HarryVardon wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 12:50 pm Thanks for the answers. The Hua Hin receipts are pink and completed by hand in Thai. You can use Google Lens them or ask a Thai friend to translate them. I don't suspect fraud in routine immigration transactions but I do like to know what I'm being told, force of habit.
