Movies They Couldn't Make Now

Post by sateeb »

These days it seems that movie makers have to tread sooo carefully in order not to offend the righteous, high horse riding moralists so I thought lets have a reality check and post your favourite scenes from movies that you think couldn't be made now.

My 1st choice is Jack Nicholson as Melvin Udall in As Good As It Gets(1997). Any gen X Y or Millennials on here who haven't seen it, please do, and don't feel offended

^ Cracking movie - and a superb actor :thumb:

Things are getting beyond a joke these days though when "they" start talking about "consent" in the likes of Disney movies! Believe it or not "True Love's Kiss" in Snow White is being slated because Snow White was sleeping when the Prince kissed her, so couldn't have given consent!! :banghead:

A good example ofwhat would not be filmed now it is the carry on films. The comments and suggestive remarks would give the woke brigade a heart attack. :naughty:
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

Oh, Jesus wept, I ache after watching that clip from Brian! Can I risk watching the whole film again - lol!

From the UK, I can think that Clockwork Orange would be a complete no-no, likewise with Straw Dogs, apart from the brutality, the scene where Susan George is being raped and starts enjoying it, would be taboo. There was a similar scene in 'Bring me the head of Alfred Garcia'.

Watched this last night. Never heard of it before but it came up on Netflix Au as I'm working down-under right now.

Bad Boy Bubby (1993)

Completely bizarre film...... recommended for the more adventurous amongst us.
