Wearying!

Post by caller »

With all due respect to some new members, their posts can sometimes be tiresome!

Coming onto the forum and asking, "hey, whats life like in Thailand", or "hows the golf in HH" or something equally banal does little to enthuse.

And then you realise there's a spate of similar one/two line questions on various theads without any attempt to search the site first, you have to wonder why?

Now, I may well have been a pain when I joined, or still am  but when after one day of not logging in you're faced with 70 new posts.....

This seems to be happening more and more?

Is there a solution before it drives people away?

To me it seems obvious that some are less interested in their own questions than in collecting the magic 30 posts in shortest possible time.

I agree it is tiresome, but I suppose the "30 posts rule" for the restricted area is needed. Perhaps one solution could be to change the rule to "30 posts over more than a month's time" or something. I believe some of the worst cases would not have the patience to bother, or at least they would have more time to think through what they post. Good or bad idea?

I have more than 30 posts but have no desire to gain access to the restricted areas. Am I unique?....

No you're not. I fall into that category myself. But I've noticed for some time now that quite a few seem to be in the opposite situation - they want access badly and post absolutely anything to reach 30. Am I wrong?

Thats the tough one, we need to keep that area restricted as we dont want the dreaded green screen of death appearing here.

Also we're trying to encourage people to post but it does get a little tiring when its the same old stuff without any effort made to search for the answers that are already here.

Would be nice if some of those said newer members could post here to let us know their thoughts.

I am afraid I am among the "silent readers", and do not write very many posts into this forum.

Nevertheless, I would like to tell that I am reading the forum almost every day, and have a lot of pleasure doing it...both for a good laugh and amusing stuff about everything and nothing...and of course some stuff that is not so amusing...

Staying far away from Thailand most of the year, waiting for the time to go back again - this forum does make the time shorter and keeps me updated on whats happening.........

Thank you, everyone, for that.......

I will be back in Hua Hin in two weeks now, and time is very looooong.. just cant wait to have some of that lovely sea food and a cold Singha at the beach......

No Randy not at all. You are unique in the fact that you offer to eat your own feces and drink the product of your reproductive organs.

As for the Creepie Crawlies section you are in a majority of all the people that I know. Even the friends I have that do have access say that it is of little interest to them. I am sure it serves the need of some.
