So what is going on around here and where does it happen? This section is for discussion on local events, festivals, and holidays as well as activities and things to do.
Big Boy wrote:There is usually a parade through town, but I was really disappointed last time. 1 very poor float - definitely not worth waiting for.
Having said that, other years have been brilliant.
I think you must have missed the main part BB. We went to Queen's Park 19 Rai and there were quite a few elaborate floats just arriving when we got there just after 8pm.
Really? We were actually disgusted with what we saw. Other years have been fantastic, and it was quite shocking what it had been downgraded to, We, along with thousands of others were waiting on the advertised route - TIT, I guess.
The Loy Krathong Parade has been advertised as running from Pone King Petch Park to the Clock Tower from 16:30 to 18:00. This is the original route when they used to have a half decent parade. However, the times were always advertised as per this year, but in reality, they always waited until it got dark before setting off, so arrival at 16:30 could be dubious.
Floating your Krathong at Khao Tao (probably the most picturesque, but traffic and parking is always a pig)
The poster says that the float procession will be at 17.30 starting at the highways department offices and proceed along Petchkasem to the clock tower.
The highways department offices are near soi 68 and soi 53 on Petchkasem.
Edit: Sorry the picture wasn't included, but it's easily seen in the post earlier in the thread.

I think this is not the parade that includes floats.
