I bought an old car earlier this year and the tax is due on 11th November, however, as it's old it also needs to undergo a test, I guess like the UK MOT but probably not as strict!
The only test place I know is the one under the flyover near the turn off to Takiab. Anyone used this for the annual test and is it done in one day or will I have to leave it for a week or more like I hear about some repair garages so how soon in advance of the 11th should I take it ? And do they also obtain the tax disc or do I need to organise that myself ? I don't mind paying extra for them to do it.
Also it has two very small dents, about the size of a one baht coin but spoils the overall appearance of the car, can this garage sort that or do I need a dedicated body shop?
Thanks.

Yes, I always use that test centre heading out on the Pulau U road on the right near those La Vallee estates, the test is very basic as mentioned above, they put the car on a rolling road with a noise meter at the exhaust, wind the thing up and slam the brakes on a couple of times and that is about it, any time taken is waiting your turn and it's never taken me very long, it's always been less than half an hour.
Thanks BB, I had read that a while back on here when I researched the topic after I bought the car. I was just trying to get everything done at once at the one place. I also have a cracked fog lamp that needs replacing, I have the new lamp which I will ask them to change and do an oil change while it's there.
Is that one of the places where you have to leave your car for 2 weeks ? I sometimes go 2 weeks without using it as the motorbike is more convenient but these blemishes are so small I would have thought a couple of days max.
