Despite having driven down and up Soi 88 early this morning I now find there is a diversion in place between the turn off to across to Chomsin Road over the mountain and the Technical College. I am informed by the management of the development I live on that the latest work will take one week. She did smile when I said a Thai week! She was also very apologetic as they had received no warnings. Is it beond the Thai Authorities carrying out road works just to let people know their plans.
As always there has been no publicity of this or did I miss it?
As I live between the two sets of barricades I presume that I need to be prepared to be blocked in for the third time this year!
Does anyone know more about how long this will really last?
The road is still very difficult! The new concreted section is open, supposedly one way, from Horizons down towards town. Beyond Horizons,up to the college it is single track coming down to give us residence access it has been half concreted but as of yesterday this was not open to drive on.However in practice cars/ bikes/ lorries seem to be doing what they want!
As I write more concrete is being laid so that hopefully in the next few days up to Horizons will be a two lane road again, if, they remove the pipes stopping access!
What happens beyond that I do not know.
