Hua Hin under seige
Hua Hin under seige
From this afternoon until midnight on 28 March, roadblocks have been set up on all major routes in and out of the city.
This coincides with mobile cabinet meeting, which is taking place here.
Police and army request that road blocks are approached slowly.

AND with a clean up of the Bangkok Hospital 'copter pad and the flying of a new windsock the flight lanes in and out of HH may be busy too
Good weekend to stay at home I reckon. I will anyway with F1, football and cricket to watch

I'd think the helipads across the road from Suan Son would be favourite for heli-traffic.

Favourites are not always the way to go. I'm sure many routes and methods are in consideration. The obvious is quite often the most vulnerable

Re: Hua Hin under seige
riding my Kawasaki big bike around hua hin today for about four hours. i went through three check points where normally i see zero.
one manned by no less than ten police officers in the entrance to Khao Takiap. one was at the crest of the hill on highway 3218.
i did see a Bell UH-1 at about 2000 feet heading west to east paralleling highway 3218.
i also noticed police cruising the rail road and soi 80. soi 94 west end got three passes of patrols. even in the countryside the police were manning their tiny checkpoints.
all the checkpoints were taking traffic down to one lane.
of course the one time i decide to go hauling ass down the main drag into Khao Takiap they are all waiting there. But they just smiled and did nothing.
not the day to forget your helmet.

With all that security, it doesn't appear that his 'Thainess' and reconciliation messages are really getting through!

Re: Hua Hin under seige
I went to Immigration this morning so coming from Cha Am I turned left at Soi 19 and came out by the Palace traffic lights and travelled towards Soi 112 on the south side of HH. Coming back we went as far as Makro and stopped to buy a few things. Just as we pulled in, the cavalcade coming from BKK direction started to pass. We came out about 25 minutes later and there were still a few straggling cars/escorts, so it must have been some procession. However, neither on the way in or way out did we get stopped at any checkpoints so so much for security!!
Re: Hua Hin under seige
Came through the roadblock on 112 an hour ago. They pulled over every car for a search EXCEPT ones being driven by farangs who were waved on. Makes a change.

I turned onto 112 from Petchkasem and then turned left at the first 7/11 so didn't see any roadblocks, but coming into HH from Cha Am there was no roadblocks and nothing going back out.HHTel wrote:Came through the roadblock on 112 an hour ago. Re: Hua Hin under seige
The 112 roadblock was way out around the floating market. I was coming in from the bypass end. (Much quicker than going through the town).
112 to Hua Hin school around lunchtime - 1 hour. Coming back up the Pala u road and across to 112 - longer in distance but 20 mins.
