Tune up for diesel engine

Can someone explain what a tune up for a diesel engine would consist of? All these years and I've never asked a shop, and probably like most of us my life experience has been with gasoline engines concerning plugs, points etc., not diesels. Pete

You can take out the injectors and have them ultrasonically cleaned and their spray pattern checked, other than that it's only various filters and oil ( I think)

Or it could be a proper tune-up giving you more torque and horse power like I did on my Fortuner. I've had it installed since day 1 we bought the car, and fuel efficiency are better, and response is quicker.

A proper tune-up would also include checking and adjusting the injector timing. When I see those black smoke belching older Thai diesels one knows that all that unburnt fuel is just going up out in smoke. If injectors are clean and timing adjusted properly they should run quite smoke free.
