Breaking down in rural location?
So as I've asked on other Thai forums there doesn't seem to be any breakdown services. What happens if you break down in the middle of nowhere?

i have a breakdown service with my car,not sure of the name of company,its about 700bht a year,i had it included with my car insurance thru matt at aa insure.

Same here; nationwide breakdown service always included with my auto insurance policy from AA insurance. Never had to use it but was told they will even come change a flat tire for you as long as your car is not in your driveway.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Even if you don't have breakdown cover, there are emergency numbers that you can call. They are 4 digit numbers which I can't recall just now but one is for a motorway breakdown and the other is for the rest. I broke down on the way to Pattaya last November. Miles away from anywhere and a passing Thai told me which number to call. Within half an hour, a flat bed arrived to load the car and complete my journey to Pattaya. Cost was 2,000 baht but at that time of night it was a godsend. I believe the numbers are manned by the police who turned up ahead of the flat bed.

Car world club as Nereus suggests. I have used them for years without complaint. Cheaper than your average 'Somchai' towing service. ..
