Buying a big bike, customer service?

Post by Campbound »

Ok, wow! Is all I have to say!
I am in the market for a new bike, I want either a Ducati Hypermotard, or failing that a Honda CB500X. Try as I might to get any dealer to respond to my emails or phone calls has been a fruitless exercise. Reading forums, I am understanding that customer service is just non existent with the big bike shops.
Unfortunately, I am out of Thailand, hence the emailing and phone calls. I'll pay cash for the new bike, I just need to know if they have one or how long I need to wait after ordering it.
Any feed back, other than the obvious (go in and see them) would be helpful, what's your experience with after sales service, anyone you would recommend, how can I get in contact with these people, again other than waiting until I get back and going door to door.
cheers guys

If you want customer service then contact the forum sponsor Motoaholic - Kawasaki.
Oh and you'll get the better bike too..

Details for K'Por can be found here:
Club Moto and X-Speed big bike accessories
I can vouch for her customer service - I have three Kawasakis now, I should know!

I bought a Honda CB500F and their service is fine IF you live in Bangkok where the Bigwing dealership is.

For that reason alone I'd agree with the above and recommend Kawasaki who are local and K'Por who speaks outstanding English. The showroom is in Kuiburi and you can test ride the bikes there, have you considered the 2015 Versys?

Understand fellows,
I'll go check her shop out when I'm there, really had my heart set on one of the other 2 though.

I just picked up my new 2015 Kawasaki Versys from Motoaholic Kui Buri and I found their service to be very professional. Having the dealer so close to Hua Hin was the reason I chose Kawasaki (plus I had a ZX9R I loved).

Campbound,
Motoaholic also own the Ducati dealership at Ratchaphruek in Bangkok right next door to their Kawasaki Motoaholic and ClubMoto shops. If you're still persistent on the Italian Stallions - I would suggest contacting Khun Por anyway as she will point you in the right direction.

I would go with the Ducati, the Kawasaki Versys is a good enough bike, but it isn’t in the same league as the Ducati and you don’t have to trail all the way to BKK, there is a Ducati dealer in Cha am

Yes indeed there is a Ducati shop in Cha Am, tried countless times to contact them, even had a Thai friend phone everyday for a week, with no response. So i consider it a big glass box with bikes on display only. Would love to see their sales records.......
so bottom line i guess, is ...........unless you walk in with a wade of cash in your hand waving it in front of the sales people drawing their attention from their I - phones, I'm not going to get anyone help......got it.

think I'll buy a horse!

I hear you, I am not sure what is going on now, I know two guys who bought Ducati's there 12 months or so ago and they were happy enough with the service.
