I have voted no as it is not only offensive in Thailand, it is rude everywhere! The only exception to this would be beach bars, but even then it doesn't take much to put a shirt on there either. I can understand why businesses don't make an issue of it though, as a customer is a customer. A slightly humorous sign would probably do the trick with most though, such as (copying from your poll) 'Man breasts are not a fashion statement! Please wear a shirt in our bar'
I also voted no. Beach bars maybe acceptable although I have been refused service in one of them simply because we wanted to move a table slightly so we could sit together (four people).
Maybe I should have gone in there without a shirt on.

I'm neither old fashioned nor jealous, but I'd like to extend this to vests, usually worn by blokes trying to show off their muscles. They should stay in the gym, not go into bars/restaurants ....
Saw a chap in a vest at one of the nicer restaurants one evening and it looked rude and out of place.
So in case anyone is unsure, I voted No.

Well, its really no from me too, but I couldn't resist voting for the mens breasts bit - it just made me laugh. I thinking putting a sign up allong the lines "they are not" would be a good way of going about it. Incidentally, just about the only rule that UK pubs still enforce is "shirt on".

Too true. Donkey's years ago I was sitting on the roof terrace of my local pub in London on the first decent day of the year and a friend and I took our shirts off. There was noone else up there, except a security camera and we were promptly told to cover up by the landlord.thailooper wrote:no for me too ! would you do it in your local on a hot summers day ? i doubt it - so why should one do it in thailand ?
Correctly as well. I'll admit that was the one and only time I ever did it.

I’m a No on this one.
I wouldn’t go topless in public in my own country so I definitely don’t agree with it in any other country.
As for ladies going topless, I think the same should apply.
Any way there’s something nice about seeing a lady show just the right amount of skin, if you get my drift.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
