Massive Earth Shaking Blasts North Hua Hin Mountain Side.

Post by JimmyGreaves »

We have been having massive earth shaking blasts somewhere mountain side north of town Borfai (soi 6) is where I am and it's been really bad. This morning there was an earth trembling blast worse than ever. Previously there have been many. This morning's blast has actually created cracks in the plastering of the house. (Who knows what unseen damage it may have created)

Anyone got any information on what's occurring as I need to report this at least. Maybe try and claim compensation (Fat bloody chance) My insurance might cover it :-(

Bloody worrying!

 Where in Soi 6, Jimmy? I am at Sunset Village and have not noticed anything, apart from the a---holes with their concrete manufacturing factory directly opposite my front gate. :guns:
There is a quarry in the foothills past the end of Soi 6, but from what I recall it is sand, not rock that would need blasting. :?

We heard it here on Soi 88 - I was standing at the sink and saw the window move before I heard the rattling of all the other windows. The first one was late last night, then again around 0700 then a bit late there were three close together.

We are just round the corner from 114 and we heard what we thought was thunder but noticing there was a clear sky, we assumed a heavy lorry had just passed by. Quarry blasting would fit!!

I was sat on my balcony in Condochain around 9am ish and I heard 2 very loud bangs from the direction of the mountains which I thought must be thunder despite no clouds and clear blue skies but maybe it was something else ? :rasta:

This might sound a little stupid but are you close to a temple?
I was driving into Hua Hin on Tuesday night about 7pm on the Klong road near BorFai and there were three massive bangs with flashes (or really flashes with bangs afterwards).
At the temple near me there are endless 'salutes' of three bangs as they let off fireworks for the dead, the one at BorFai seemed very similar but considerably louder than I'm used to.

It sounds like someone is blasting the mountain to make a road through. It's big earth tremor capacity and has been going on for at least 3 weeks now, this morning's was frightening. A friend who lives towards Palm Hils on the Boom Bam restaurant/shooting range road mentioned it to me a week ago and he said it felt like his house was falling down. Two blasts today and we have cracks on the outside rendering.

This is not temple fireworks if it was the dead would come to life!

Hi Jimmy, in what part of Bo Fai do you live? I also have a house there but have been in BKK since Wed. I'm considering to have a friend go and check for damage.

I live down the canal road and felt the blasts this morning. It shook the house twice. This is not the first time. 2-3 weeks ago I felt it 3 times in a row, always in the morning.

Thanks, I live closer to the mountains, very close to Hua Hin Hamlets. I'll get someone to go around and check

I was fishing at the Fishing Lodge on Wednesday morning, when I heard 3 loud explosions. Also this morning Mrs BB and I heard what sounded like 3 rumbles of thunder in fairly quick succession (we live between Sois 88 and 94). Despite clear blue skies, my dear wife insisted we bring the washing in.

I am reliably informed by Mrs D-M that it is what it sounds like (from here anyway) - blasting in the hills/mountains (when does a hill become - oh never mind). Whether it's quarrying or to clear a road, I cannot say.

Nearer Cha-am than HH and not far from the bypass.
This is the way
