Best day to visit DreamWorld

Post by ejorris »

Were planning for some days in Bangkok and our children would like to visit DreamWorld. I did first plan to spend a Monday there since then the Thai schoolchildren are at school. Or are they? We've noticed this about the first Monday after full moon which seems to be an extra holiday(?)

Perhaps anyone knows which day would be the best for a visit, or is it not crowded in weekends either?

As a partial reply, Thai schools are out of session for their long yearly summer break until about the beginning of May. Pete

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention to you that Dreamworld has had quite a few accidents over the years injuring people, including children. Much if it was blamed on bad ride maintenance. I don't know if things have changed. You can read more if you Google "accidents dreamworld bangkok". Pete

PS: Are you here this morning Nereus? Have you taken your little one there recently....anything negative?

Check out accidents at Disneyworld America and you get the same results involving cases of negligence. Same with Alton Towers UK. No need for Thai bashing here.

To answer the op question...any time other than the rainy season. I have been about 40 times (30 of those with coaches full of kids) and the only time that it wasn't as fun was when it became 'Wet Dreamworld'.

Ok, thanx GLCQuantum.

About accidents, I did not let my kids ride the rides at the tempel next to Cikada where there has been some sort of festival last week. There were a few small ones that looked sort of homemade if you know what I mean. I guess that the bus/minivan trip to Bangkok is far more risky than the rides. Got a figure that it was 6 times the probability to get killed in traffic in Thailand then in Sweden. On the other hand it is probably 1000 times higher chance to get killed by an avalanche in Sweden :)

But I'll check the statistics before we go there.

Who is Thai bashing? I'm passing along a caution that has been posted on here before when the accidents happened. Of course accidents happen everywhere, are we presently EVERYWHERE?!...no, we are in Thailand where Dreamworld is. Thailand's record is abysmal concerning knee jerk reactions to accidents and no proactive approach after the fact to prevent them from happening again. That's not Thai bashing either, it's straight fact. Pete
