Here's an extract from his email:
I had a BBQ mixed grill (chicken, pork, steak and some large chunkks of onion and sweet peppers - with chipsof course) - 180 baht, with a large Chang at 65 baht. HHF's cordon bleu looked equally delicious at 150 baht. Nice cool breeze, set back far enough from the road for the traffic not to be a problem. Very nice Thai family running the place. Well worth a visit.I wanted to let you know about a new and very exciting dining option on our end of town. It's actually one of the oldest restaurants in Hua Hin as it was open when we first came in 2003 and we ate Thai food there a lot back then as it was very good. Then it changed ownership around two years ago and the food and service went downhill a bit so with so many options we stopped going. Well, it changed owners again in August and now, not only is the Thai food and service back to great again, but they have extended the menu with many European (including Italian) options and two full pages of really good Mexican food.
The place is just past Soi 106 on Phetkasem road and is called (still) Pandintong, but the sign is only in Thai except for the word "New". It is now owned and operated entirely by a really nice family and the food is very well priced and very good. Bring your apetite as the dishes (especially the western and Mexican) are large. Even beer is at rock bottom prices for a place like this. Over the last two weeks it has become my favorite place in town and since it's only 5 minutes from the house that's excellent. Oh, and they deliver up to 4 p.m.! I asked how far and my house is no problem. They said they would go anywhere if the order was big enough to pay for the gas (she said as an example that if the order was 1k baht, they would deliver to Kao Tao).
Anyway, if you haven't been there before, I highly recommend it. It's difficult to spot as it has a small garden in front with the open air restaurant set back from the street a bit you don't see it coming from the south until you are directly in front of it. It's only a couple of short blocks after you leave the flyover (again coming from the south) and there are a couple of basket/small furniture wicker/bamboo shops directly on the sidewalk immediately before it so when you see those look for a parking spot along the street. They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I've tried the chicken enchiladas, chicken burrito, cordon bleu, and weinerschnitzel, and they were all very good. The family (3 of them living here now) have tried several of the Thai dishes and say they are good as well.
