Proof of residence to transfer a car

Post by certocito »

I am going to Pranburi on Tuesday to transfer a used car registration into my name. I assume I will need a proof of residence cert similar to that I used for my Thai driving licence. My question is can you get the proof of residence cert from the main police station in Hua Hin or does it have to come from the Immigration office. Would appreciate any advice on this.

You can do it at the police station but in Hua Hin they'll probably tell you to go to immigration who will deprive you of 500 baht for the privilege.

Thanks for that. I'm assuming they'll charge me the same as for my driving licensce - 300 baht. Whichever there's no way around paying.
