d-m: Do you really think so?

It's difficult to try and analyise things subjectively; the grass is always greener etc. HH may well have gone down the slide for those that live there full time, but for those of us who just visit (but will become full time residents), it is still way out in front of the likes of Bangkok, or Phuket or that whore house Pattaya.

We always look forward to returning to HH (you might try living in Doha for a while) and recognise that it's not perfect, but at the same time it's pretty damn good, isn't it???

Okay, let me give it some serious thought.

Relevant points for me:

I've been in this area for 6 years.
I live out of town (soi 126, a bit past your little dump  ).
I rent.
I don't go into town much - less now than ever. When I do it's probably for lunch.
I like the area, but it's got very expensive. When I retire altogether we'll almost certainly go further afield. Probably south.
I never knew any sleepy little fishing village.
The town is still expanding rapidly - building projects everywhere.
The basic infrastructure is showing no signs of improvement - doesn't seem to be a priority for any level of government.
Shopping malls, tourist attractions, floating markets there are so many now that a few more won't make much difference.

And that's what I meant, really. There isn't much they could do to Hua Hin that would make get me all NIMBYish now.
Of course, if they did it to soi 126 or Kao Tao that would be an entirely different matter!!!

Good thoughts; but I still think HH is good; comparatively speaking :thumb:

Where would you live if you didn't live in Hua Hin. I need to make a decision, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
