Kasetsart University Veterinary Training Hospital
Kasetsart University Veterinary Training Hospital
Can anybody please help me figure out how to get to the new Kasetsart University Veterinary Training Hospital in Pranburi? I'd like to get a second opinion from a more qualified vet (I just don't trust the small clinics in Hua Hin).
Re: Kasetsart University Veterinary Training Hospital - Wher
Its located 50metres afteer Soi 97 just south side of Hua Hin, big white buildings just before Sea Pines Golf course.

Leave Hua Hin toward Pranburi, over the flyover, then about 1 or 2 km on your left - you can't miss it. Next time, go there for a first opinion - excellent set-up!

Thanks both. Is it really that close? I thought it was a lot farther away.
ETA: One more question: Do you know what time they open and close? And how long the waiting time is likely to be, so I can plan accordingly?

I've been taking my mutt there for the past couple of months......They open at 0830 to 1600 then 1700 to 1930 Monday to Thurs Friday hours are 830 to 1130
I've never had to wait long and my dogs blood test results are usually ready within 30minutes.
Excellent service and facilities IMO.

They're open at the weekend as well - 0830 til ? We've been going daily for the last week or so and try to get there c 0800, but we are prepared to wait a bit for our favourite vet.

Thank you. I'm going to go tomorrow morning then (since it's not an emergency) and see how it goes.sateeb wrote:I've been taking my mutt there for the past couple of months......They open at 0830 to 1600 then 1700 to 1930 Monday to Thurs Friday hours are 830 to 1130

Thanks. Will head there early just in case. It will be my first time, so no favorite vet just yet. I do prefer to work with the same vet all the time, so hopefully I'll like the one I get tomorrow.dtaai-maai wrote:They're open at the weekend as well - 0830 til ? Yes, it's in the south part of Takiab, not Pranburi. Is it really that close?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Kasetsart University Veterinary Training Hospital - Good?
I went to the hospital the other day and it turns out my dog needs a small surgical procedure. That's the same thing the original vet (from small clinic in Hua Hin) had said. However, I didn't like the vet at Kasetsart. She answered every question with "I don't know." Not only was it annoying, but it left me feeling very uncomfortable.
I now have an appointment for surgery tomorrow. However, I haven't met the surgeon and there's no way I'm just going to drop my dog off without having a talk with the surgeon first. If they don't let me talk to him tomorrow (so he can answer the question the clueless vet couldn't), then I'm not going through with the surgery there.
I've heard so many great things about this place, but I'm now doubting the whole thing. Anybody has experience with more involved procedures there (surgeries, etc.) and how the vets work?

That sounds rather like the lady we do our best to avoid.dotx wrote:I went to the hospital the other day and it turns out my dog needs a small surgical procedure. I can't help you with the surgery aspect, but in general terms I'd say don't give up on the place unless you're sure.
Next time you have a routine problem ask for Dr Baet (pronounced like "bear" or "bare" with a silent 't' at the end); he's very thorough and he obviously cares. Unfortunately I don't know how good his English is (and, incidentally, that could be the reason your vet gives you a lot of "I don't know"s).
Good luck.

Do they do European standard micro chipping there?

Thanks for the info. I'll ask for him next time I just need a consultation.dtaai-maai wrote:That sounds rather like the lady we do our best to avoid.dotx wrote:I went to the hospital the other day and it turns out my dog needs a small surgical procedure. As for the surgery, I've decided I don't feel comfortable doing it here, so I'm driving the dog to Bangkok tomorrow and meeting with a specialist at Thonglor. I talked to them on the phone today and felt much better after the conversation. The doctor spoke perfect English, she answered all my questions and she suggested a couple of tests before going for surgery (which was exactly what I wanted but the doctors here just jumped into the surgery and basically ignored anything else). He might need surgery anyway, but if he does, he'll just have it somewhere better.
Re: Kasetsart University Veterinary Training Hospital
I took my dog to the teaching hospital to be spayed. A blood test was carried out before they would do the surgery which revealed a high white blood cell count and abnormal liver function reading which is still being treated with antibiotics and liver supplements. I am quite happy at the level of service at this place.
