Greetings from north

Post by Troyron »

Hi guys and gals, greetings from north.

Me and my wife is looking into the possibility to move to Thailand, and then it will be either Bkk or Hua Hin. Asked my workplace if I could do my work from Thailand for a period, and hopefully that will be accepted. My wife have become a B celebrity in Thailand and are now in the process of getting some TV offers, that means she will be in BKK a few days a week. However we do hope to be able to live in Hua Hin, as Bkk is to busy and to much risk with flooding, and Pattaya is to much of everything :)

I have heard allot of nice things about Hua Hin, and Im doing some research at the moment. But if its good enough for the king, it should be good enough for us ;) I should know something within a few weeks.

If I do hope to meet some of you guys for a beer, watching some football and maybe play some pool. Also hope to be able to coach a football team or something down there, but time will tell.

See you around guys.

Oh I forgot that, hehe. Yes it means Scandinavia and more accurately from Norway. Been to Thailand 7 times before (on 3 and 4 weeks stay), and mostly in Pattaya and Phuket. But the last two trips have been Bkk and Korat (3 hours drive north east from Bkk), to my wifes family.
Coming to Korat was so different from the other trips I have been to Thailand, hardly no tourists and pretty much only thai people. Was strange at first, but then loved it. Its like seeing the real thailand, if you can say something like that.

I think you'd be far better off in Bangkok and giving Hua Hin a complete miss. From reading a few of your post's you will surely find a far better class of people in Bangkok to suit you and your wife's needs.

Maybe, I think the "employees" there are some of the highest paid in the country. :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Not sure what you mean by that, but what drags me to HH is the ocean and that BKK is to big. I dont want to go to Pattaya and I have heard allot about HH. The problem is what to do, if she gets a job for a TV channel (which is likely). Then she most likely must be in Bkk 2-3 days a week, and that can put a string on the relationship. We can at least start out in HH, and then see what happens.

Well now we have decided to move to Thailand, but if the flooding goes back we will move to Bangkok due to my wifes work. If things dont work out, Im sure we will move to HH which I prefer. HH is just a few house away, so Im sure we will be going there from time to time. So hopefully I will meet some of you guys in the future.
