Hi All,
As many know I am completely hopeless with anything digital, we just dont see eye to eye! I want a good all purpose (simple function) camera, suitable mainly for taking pictures of houses!.
I have heard that Canons are great, any clues??
Thanks,
JW

John
I have just bought a Cannon IXUS115HS model in the UAE for the equivalent of 6500 baht which has 12.1 mega-pixels, 4 times optical zoom and HD movie capability. Very compact and takes great quality pictures. Trouble is that there are so many variations just within the Cannon brand alone not to mention Sony, Panasonic, Fuji etc, but the guy in the shop claimed that Cannon was the best and judged on my very limited use of it so far, I have no reason to doubt him. They had two colours available a fairly bright blue which is the one I bought, but if you are feeling adventurous, they also had it in pink
Cheers

Hey JW, we have a Canon G11, it takes exceptional shots. Is simple if you want it that way and also can change all sorts of settings to make it complicated as my wife likes to do.
I believe there is a new model, G12 which is pretty much the same but has better low light abilities.
Not available in pink.

As the posters above indicate, JW, I would go with the best Canon you can afford. In review after review and comparisons on many different digital camera web sites I read regularly, Canon generally comes out on top in most categories, especially image quality (when compared to similar models from other manufacturers).
They make so many different models in your price range, you will need to decide on what's important for the type of photography you are going to do. Do you want small (pocket size), or do you want a long zoom range? If you're mainly going to use it in your business as you stated, then you will need one with a wide angle lens capability for those indoor room shots (at least 28mm, preferably 24mm).

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

As an example here's a review of a pocket sized Canon with a 24mm to 120mm (film lens equivalent) which should be great for room shots as well as outdoor shots of a property. It's around your top price range. You don't have to get red... it also comes in black and silver.
