How to check if everything is ok with a car before buy it ?

Hello,

Some guy in Phuket is trying to sell me a car for very cheap, i already heard stories about stolen cars, rented cars... how i can check if everything is ok with that car ? I mean :

Not stolen
Not rented
Blue book matching the car itself
Not involded in crimes

He or she is divorcing and want fast cash, any way i can check if he's really divorcing ?

The simple answer is that you probably can't check anything. Assume the worst. If it is cheap there is a reason. If you are prepared to take the risk then buy it and get it re-registered a long way away from Phuket.
You can't check on the divorce thing - and it wouldn't make any difference anyway. Divorce - desertion - makes no difference to a Thai. Up to you if you are prepared to take a risk - but if it looks to good to be true it probably is.

Why not just take the paperwork and have it checked on the computer by the police for a couple of hundred baht. Might not be that easy so ask a frontline dealership how they check before they take a second hand car. If they will not let you have the paperwork then walk.
