Recommendations for good seafood
We will be spending about 9 days in Hua Hin and we both love seafood! Also some good spicy Thai dishes would be superb. Any suggestions to some reasonable, within walking distance from the center of town where we can find good eateries. Also, is the night market a daily occurance?

'HH is your oyster' Abundance of good food and if you like it spicy tell them 'Isaan style' They tend to water down for tourists
Enjoy..................Sure you will

Thanks for all the great info and really looking forward to this trip. I'm sure we'll bump into some of you other there when we are out and about!

Eating can be divided into three zones:
Zone 1) Between the beach and Phetchkasem Road (Highway 4) is prime tourist territory with blanded-out overpriced food except for some of the seafood restos by the pier.
Zone 2) Between Phetchkasem and the train tracks is a 50-50 zone with good eats both Thai and falang.
Zone 3) Beyond the tracks is 90% Thai territory but totally safe. Food more likely to be prepared for Thai palates at Thai prices here.
For proper Thai food avoid restos full up with falangs. Food carts are dishing up real Thai food though it may not resemble what you have seen at home. Choose a busy cart and remember what Anthony Bourdain sez: "They don't stay in business by poisoning their customers."

There's also a market between St Paulo Hospital and the Grand Hotel - plenty of well priced food there as well. IMHO the market prices are cheaper than the Night Market.tonyridesahd wrote:Also, is the night market a daily occurance?
